📍 Where do the navigations depart?

  • Moreno Spirit: It departs from Puerto Perito Moreno, located at the foot of the coastal walkways (blue circuit) of the Perito Moreno glacier, within Los Glaciares National Park, located 80 km from El Calafate. 
  • Mayo Spirit Trek: Departs from the Port of Punta Bandera (Solo Patagonia Pier), located 47 km from El Calafate. Transfers from your hotel can be included (optional).

⏰ What are the hours?

  • Moreno Spirit:
    • High season (Nov-Apr): daily departures between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
    • Low season (May-Oct): departures between 11:45 and 14:30.
  • Mayo Spirit Trek:
    • Daily departure (with a minimum of 20 passengers) at 9:30 a.m., from Punta Bandera (departure: 9:10 a.m.).
    • Return at approximately 5 p.m.
    • Available from OCT to APR.

🚌 Do the sailings include transfers?

  • Moreno Spirit: Transfers are not included. Visitors must arrive at Puerto Moreno on their own. Please inquire with the office about daily travel agency transfers.

  • Mayo Spirit Trek: An optional round-trip transfer from your hotel can be arranged (additional fee).

🧒 Can children participate?

Yes, both tours are designed for the general public, with no minimum or maximum age.

Do you have any restrictions?

  • Moreno Spirit: dock not suitable for wheelchair access. 
  • Mayo Spirit Trek: the passenger must not have any walking problems (wheelchair use, canes, motor problems). For babies, we suggest that the responsible adult carry them in a child carrier.
    Women with advanced pregnancy (7 months or more): cannot do it.

🏗️ Do navigations have a guide?

Yes, both tours are guided on board, Spanish/English, and authorized by the National Parks Administration.

📷 Can I take photos?

Of course! Both excursions offer unique landscapes. It’s recommended to bring a camera or cell phone with a full battery. On Moreno Spirit, you can hire a professional photographer on board (optional service).

🌧️ Are they suspended due to bad weather?

Sailings are not suspended due to rain. They can only be canceled in the event of strong winds or large icebergs blocking access to Perito Moreno Port. This is at the discretion of the vessel’s captain, in order to prioritize the safety of passengers and crew.

And… is there a refund if it is cancelled?

* Moreno Spirit: 100% of the amount paid will be refunded.

* Mayo Spirit Trek: If upon arrival at the Perito Moreno port the vessel cannot dock due to icebergs blocking the pier, and passengers cannot disembark at the gangways, the vessel will sail longer than usual and then return to the Punta Bandera port. In this case, there will be no refund, as it is considered a fortuitous and unforeseeable natural circumstance, which we compensate for by sailing longer along the northern front of the glacier.

🧭 How long does each navigation last?

  • Moreno Spirit: 1 hour (short navigation in front of the north wall of the glacier). 
  • Mayo Spirit Trek: full day (approx. 7 hours 30 min, including sailing and hiking).

🎟️ Do they include entrance to the National Park?

No. The entrance to Los Glaciares National Park not included on any of the navigations and must be paid for separately.

  • Moreno Spirit: access portal to select in web purchase: Rio Mitre.

🧳 What to bring?

  • Comfortable and warm clothing.
  • Closed and safe shoes for walking.
  • Waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, sunscreen and sunglasses.

🍔 Do they sell food on board?

  • Moreno Spirit: Yes, there is bar service (hot/cold drinks, snacks).

     

  • Mayo Spirit Trek: There is no food on board; you must bring a meal. We do include free coffee, tea, mate cocido, and water (hot and cold). A microwave is available for passengers.

📅 Can I change or cancel my reservation?

Yes, we have clear cancellation policies. Changes or cancellations must be requested by email to reservas@southernspiritfte.com.ar.

💳 What payment methods are available?

You can pay for your browsing in the following ways:

  • From the website: with Mercado Pago or bank transfer.
  • At our office in El Calafate: cash, credit, or debit cards.

Moreno Spirit: at ticket office located in the lower parking lot of the Perito Moreno Glacier walkway area. We also accept cash, credit, and debit cards.
